Regarding Extreme Makeover, I just saw the commercial and set my PVR to record tomorrow night. Very excited, hope it is good. I will try and find sometime to write a blog post about it.
I was disappointed in Jillian's show last summer, very one dimensional. It reminded me of a caricature of her aggressive side. Over the top in an uncaring way.

Hi Olivia, thank your for your comments. I really appreciate them. It's on Mondays on ABC at 10pm/9c. Anyway, I just watched the upcoming episode trailer and it looks like it's dealing with food addiction...great to see this topic dealt with on TV shows...(http://www.facebook.com/ExtremeMakeoverWeightLossEdition)
Even with "Loser," it's rare that they touch on Food addictions...Thanks again!

thanks for your posts, so inspiring…have you seen the show Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition? I really appreciate your comments. I also agree with you on Subway however if we look at all the different choices of fast food, they are one of the better ones. In December I was in LA at a conference for a week and I had my choice of McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Time, Dairy Queen and Subway. What a line up! Not even a grocery store within walking distance. So with those choices, Subway was like a health food restaurant, LOL.
Also thank you for you for noticing my "different voice". I really love "The Biggest Loser" as it models so many of the steps needed and that we go through to live a healthy life. Yes, it does go over the top and is far from perfect but for an info-tainment program it is fabulous I feel badly for the people on the boards that get so wrapped into the drama and miss the message.

Hi,<br

While I'm with you 100% regarding the Fibre One bars and the in-show commercial was far from funny (oh, har har, big fat folks just eat and eat--silly fatties need some Fibre One bars!) I have to say I'd never call Subway "real food". Those sandwiches are every bit as bad as the Fibre One bars.
Yes, you can get BETTER options at Subway (vs the Fibre One bars) but the majority of the offerings there are over processed (and you could make a healthier sandwich at home for about the same price).
I like your blog and that you're (almost a lone) voice of reason on that silly Biggest Loser board.

(found this through the NBC biggest loser board)

While I’m with you 100% regarding the Fibre One bars and the in-show commercial was far from funny (oh, har har, big fat folks just eat and eat–silly fatties need some Fibre One bars!) Kind of like the chain smoker that is sick and tired of smoking, says never again and , throws the pack in the garbage. The problem is 2 hours latter when the resolve has worn off. You need strong "why's" and a solid strategy.

We all have an instinctive reaction to get away from pain. My daughter brought out some pictures from a 10K we did right after I lost the weight. What a difference that has made in our relationship.

Awesome!
